KNIT A PIECE APART (SIMILAR HERE) | 1969 FLARE DENIM C/O GAP

Lately I’ve been traveling quite a bit for work and can’t help but reflect back on some of my favorite days at home — cozy, comfortable, and just really relaxing. A good pair of jeans or chambray is my go-to on these laid back/work from home days. Other than flannels, there’s not much better 😉 I’m obsessed with these 1969 Gap Flares… always love a good dose of the 70s to balance things out.

Answered a few questions for my partnership with Styld.by with Refinery29 and Gap… here’s a quick look….

How do you recharge when things get hectic or you’re swamped with work and travel? Is a relaxing ritual or resetting in some way important to restoring your creative energy?“Bath and candle! I am so cold natured and always freezing so I tend to take several baths/day in the winter. It’s so soothing and calming! My favorite candle is White Lavender by this local Nashville company. It’s divine!”

How do you get started when you sit down to brainstorm? What helps you get in the right mindset, is it a comfortable outfit, or a certain corner of your home?“I have a non-lined journal where I store all my ideas. I find getting cozy on the couch and actually writing ideas down is freeing and also holds me accountable.”

Denim is such an integral part of your brand and identity, how did you narrow your focus and how have you continued to maintain that and keep it cohesive throughout your social channels beyond your blog? Denim is such a classic piece and staple in almost every look I wear. I am always looking for new ways to recreate it in a different light…something a little less obvious and fresh. This atypical approach for such heritage pieces makes the product a little more interesting. Whether it’s mixing different washes, incorporating a denim bag, or wearing a denim head turban I try to think outside the box!”

Given your go-go-go lifestyle, how do you create some semblance of routine or normalcy in your life? “Running! It really helps clear my head and keeps me feeling light and creative amidst a hectic schedule. No matter if I am traveling through Europe or back in Nashville I generally run 4-5 days/week.”

  1. Hi, your jeans have front pockets but the ones included in the link don’t. Is there an error? I know that the Gap do have a pair of flare jeans with front pockets. Thank you!

    1. Hi! Thank you for taking note of this! The link has been updated with the exact style I am wearing. Even better, these are on sale! xx M
