Hey guys!!

SO excited to share a little wrap up from my first half marathon this past weekend. I’m not even sure where to start or how to express just how cool this experience was. The energy, the adrenal, the comradery…it really is as amazing and inspiring that people say. Before my race many friends told me “Oh your first one is really special. Settle in, turn your mind off, and enjoy it.” I have always found it hard to just sit back and relax. I’m very passionate, a bit OCD, and sometimes a little too intense. To completely turn off and relax is more challenging for me than just never stopping. Running is the only mind block I know. Once settling in and allowing my body to adjust to the pace my mind slowly escapes and literally I loose track of time. Before my first half, 10 miles was the furthest I’d ever run. Adding the adrenal, 1,000 runners, and a beautiful fall morning, 3 additional miles was no different. I lost track of time, I was so relaxed, I escaped.

Big thanks to all my brand partners, Jamba Juice, Runkeeper, and Lucy Activewear who helped support and guide me through my training. Teaming up with brands that I’ve used and identified with for years just made this experience that much sweeter. As genunine and authentic is my love for running, my loyalty and respect for these brands is just as strong.

Truly such an amazing experience… Race13.1 is only the beginning…

  1. You are so inspiring! I have only run 10 miles so far so it is nice to hear that the extra three didn’t hurt you! My goal is to run a half marathon in April and a full marathon in October 2016! Running for that long sounds impossible now, but when I first started I could barely run a mile! Great job and congrats! 🙂

  2. That’s an awesome accomplishment! I did notice your headphone option – do you like those to run in? I can’t seem to find one I enjoy using…

  3. Congrats on your first half marathon! I recently completed my first 5k, and while that’s nothing on those 13 miles, I definitely understand that specialness that you talked about. So exciting to have that changing experience. Here’s to many more!

If there is one thing you are right about it is how running helps your mind relax, and i need it as well 🙂

  5. I am so inspired by you! You travel the world looking glamorous and still have time to train for a half marathon. What’s your secret?

  6. Big congratulations on this huge accomplishment!! I’ve been following along for a while on your journey of training and find you totally inspiring! If you could leave some advice for beginners that would be awesome! How many times a week to train, etc would be really helpful!! Congrats again!! xo

  7. So cool! Absolutely inspiring 🙂 It would be my dream to run a half marathon – I have asthma but I’ve been working on it until I went in broke my foot. Anyway, I’m excited to see the pictures and live a little vicariously through you! Congrats!
