Still swooning over all the incredible hairstyles on and off the runway during NYFW. It’s always so exciting partnering with TRESemmé to see first hand the models being styled just moments before the show. Shocker, my favorite runway hairstyle was once again Marissa Webb.

The models sported a Side-Swept Bun that was inspired from a 1950’s black and white photography of Marissa’s grandparents. Much like the variation in her Spring/Summer 2016 Collection, this hairstyle combines both a utilitarian military and delicate femininity.

I got the chance to interview TRESemmé stylist Jeanie Syfu to get the scoop!

Side-Swept Bun:
Prep wet hair with TRESemmé Perfectly (un)Done Wave Creation Sea Foam and rough-dry or diffuse, using fingers to bring out natural texture.

Create a deep side part using a tail comb and clip away a 2-inch wide section from the part.

Spray TRESemmé Fresh Start Volumizing Dry Shampoo on to hair to absorb excess oil, then pull hair into a low, messy side bun, securing with an elastic and bobby pins.

Apply TRESemmé Extra Firm Gel along the hairline and behind the ear on both sides to create a glossy finish.

Release 2-inch section and tease with a comb, then sweep the section across forehead and tuck behind the ear.

Finish the look with TRESemmé TRES Two Extra Firm Control Hair Spray.

Did you catch my hairstyles during NYFW? Here are four of my favorites! Whether a low knot, top knot, or loose braid I kept it very loose and unfinished. Not only did these hairstyles relate to my looks during NYFW, they also all weathered well throughout the long days.  After a full day running around the city my hairstyle only looked better. Looking forward to returning home and recreating these exact looks with the tips I’ve learned. Biggest secret…it’s much easier than it looks! Thanks TRESemmé for making this happen! Until next year… xx
