ALL IMAGES: JOHN HILLIN

I’ve barely been home long enough to unpack a suitcase, let alone arrange and decorate the new house. It’s been an absolute whirlwind since move-in day in November; a combination of travel and hosting that makes settling in difficult.

Thank goodness for online shopping!

Now that most of the furniture is in, it’s time to focus on the details- art, photography, textiles- things that personalize the space and truly make it feel like home.

I am a sucker for fine art photography, especially black and whites! A strong image can draw out such emotion- it’s amazing! Minted has loads in inspired pieces, so when I had the chance to partner with them to select my very first piece of art special for this house, I was thrilled.

I love the convenience of customized art, the print size and frame of my choosing, shipped straight to my door! Minted makes it easy! This beautiful black and white guitar felt fitting for my home here in Nashville, a city known for its’ music.

Since moving here live music has become a bit of an obsession. Nightly outings are made when I can manage it. Truth be told, late night dance parties on the roof are what sold me on this place. Priorities and all . . .

Who knows if I’ll ever get things just right around here, but be certain I’ve go the place wired for sound from top to bottom (sorry new neighbors) and thanks to Minted I have one thing on the wall! XX-M

Any information on where we can buy the olive green cabled sweater you are wearing in the photos?

  2. I moved to Nashville just a couple months ago and it’s been so exciting decorating my first apartment. I love seeing your posts doing the same in your new home! It’s truly a wonderful feeling making something your own. I hope you post some photos of the interiors once they’re complete!
