AmplifyMy team and I are committed to the longer journey to affect real change within ourselves and our company (more about other steps we’re taking here), but so much of that comes from continuing to listen and educate – a responsibility we all have. We decided to through a different text together each month to continue to push us to grow.
When I shared this with you guys a couple weeks ago, a few of you asked to be a part – so I’m sharing our first book we’ll be reading in July – Me And White Supremacy by Layla F. Saad. Get it – sit with it – and join in the conversation.
The book examines white supremacy and challenges whites to examine and own responsibility for the ways we uphold it in our society.
At the end of the month – we’ll share with you guys in a follow-up post our thoughts and reflections as a team and let you know what we’ll reading the next month.
I’m grateful for the powerful dialogue I’ve had with my team and with you guys. My goal as an influencer is to continue to be a learner and share the process with this amazing community along the way – from creativity, to fashion, to my family, to racial justice. What I do is a privilege – and I have so much learning left to do!
Let’s continue to lean, educate, have hard conversations with friends, with family and invite someone close to you to read along. Small steps on a long journey can affect REAL change. I am committed.
