I am so excited to be sharing this interview with you guys! This month I got to chat with the incredibly talented Alex Wolf. Alex Wolf is a creative executive producer and host of the Alex Wolf Podcast, philosophical convos that inspire people to be fascinated about tech, culture, innovation and economics. Alex is a true creative force and has been named “Top 100 Most Creative People in Business” by Fast Company Magazine. “Adweek’s Top 20 Influencers Who Radiate Creativity & Get Everyone Talking” and Inc. Magazine’s “Top Creative Entrepreneurs in Marketing and Media.”
We discussed everything from how she launched her career, what keeps her motivated and inspired, and where she’s headed next. I hope you guys enjoy this one as much as I did!
Our team has collectively been listening to and loving your podcast. Can you share what sparked the idea to start communicating with your following in that way?
Well, thank you! I’m honored. I think long-form content is where it’s at right now (it’s where it’s always been at honestly). It helps you feel connected to your audience because you’re having conversations that are contextual. Right now, we use a lot of short-form, meme-like content to engage which is cool but I can’t keep up with it. I’d rather sit down and rant. 🙂
What inspires you most to create?
My sensuality, meaning, my relationship with my senses and the world. I love to let the world interact with my senses and ironically that ends up stimulating my mind. My podcast is where I release a lot of that intellectual build-up I get just from experiencing life. Our current world exploits our sensea which is a shame, we hardly know how to use these things.
What is your hope for 2021?
I’m not one to indulge in hope. Hope is about holding on to an outcome. Faith is about letting go.
How do you recharge and reset to maintain all of your projects? Do you believe in balance?
In a sense. “Harmony” is more of how I like to put it. I don’t recharge or reset to maintain my projects specifically. I restore myself naturally. If a project comes of it, great but I care more about maintaining myself than my projects.
How do you hope your work evolves and where do you see yourself going next?
I’d love to see myself in the same spot. Corner of my couch, drinking tea with a microphone and a mind full of ideas to make people rethink life and technology. <3
