Palm Springs

City Guide

Palm Springs was the perfect long-weekend getaway after back to back weeks of rain in Nashville. The desert is amazinnggg – it’s like it goes on forever and I was thankful for some warmer weather.

We stayed at an incredible house in Palm Springs – perfect with Navy because we got to spread out and somewhat keep her routine during travel (if you’re a mom, you understand – ha!) Navy girl LOVED the sun – seriously will never get over that girl in a bathing suit 🙂 – and was all smiles this trip. I love getting to travel with her. But our favorite part was having Mad surprise us our second day there. I had NO idea he was coming but he flew in to meet us. He really is the best husband and Dad.

But one of my favorite parts of the whole trip was taking a day drive to Joshua Tree! It’s always one of my go-to spots in Palm Springs and was Mad and Navy’s first. Meant so much to have them there.

Sharing more of my favs from the trip below!

CURRENTLY VIEWING:

Sandfish Sushi & Whiskey — a unique combo that I highly recommend! They have a whisky to pair with everything on the menu and such a cool mod aesthetic.

This is the perfect spot if you’re looking for something more relaxed with classic bar food and drinks – highly suggested by locals! My favorite was the frozen sidecar they keep on tap!

I loved Workshop Kitchen because their menu is constantly changing to incorporate seasonal ingredients from local farms. One of my favorite parts of traveling is getting to try food specific to the place so this is a MUST!

Amazing Vietnamese-style faire with great plus craft cocktails! It has really mod-industrial feel and is reasonably priced!

The perfect breakfast spot with a cool mid-century desert vibe. We tried a little bit of everything on the menu (I always want just a taste of something sweet! My favs were the huevos rancheros and ricotta pancakes.

A cozy bistro hidden in the historic La Plaza shopping center that feels like you’re in the South of France – the owner was actually inspired to open after traveling there! It’s got the perfect outdoor patio to enjoy a slow morning.

Such a fun take on a coffee shop! Gré Coffeehouse also serves as an art gallery so you can grab your coffee and take a look around. They also have a really cool vinyl collection, poetry and board games.

ABSOLUTELY worth the trip. Joshua tree is about a 40 mile drive outside of Palm Springs but has the most beautiful scenery – it’s always top of list when I go to Palm Springs. I had been a few times but this was Mad and Navy’s first trip there – made it even more special!

The Estrella Spa is located in the Avalon Hotel in Palm Springs – on my list for things to do next time I visit! They offer a a ton of  massage options including a CBD massage I’ve been wanting to try!

Mad and I wanted to do this last weekend but we ran out of time! The tramcar takes you up Chino Canyon – a 10-minute ride with AMAZING views no matter the time of year.

This is an amazinggg museum located in downtown Palm Springs that has a crazy western and contemporary collection from internationally acclaimed artists. Mad & I LOVED doing this – and Navy slept the whole time :).

The Parker Palm Springs is a boutique-style property in the heart of Palm Springs with a “hippie chic” vibe and surrounded by SO much natural beauty – it sits on 13 acres! On my bucket-list for places to stay.

A soulful downtown Palm Springs resort with an incredible rooftop pool and bar. The perfect spot to stay if Mad and I were to take a quick weekend getaway!!
