POSITANO

City Guide

Absolute M A G I C. I have never seen anything like Positano. The stacked houses set on the side of the mountain against the most beautiful beach… I have so much to say about this little town and it’s overwhelming charm. John Steinbeck wrote, “Positano bites deep, It is a dream place that isn’t quite real when you are there and becomes beckoningly real after you have gone”… My thoughts exactly.

We visited in the month of July, and the city was alive. The restaurants and beaches were full of people. If you go before April, you will catch it at a sleepier time, but I prefer the energy… Pros and cons to both, but there’s really no wrong time to go. Pre-April quite a few places shut down for winter, and I’ve heard it feels like you have the city to yourself! In the summer, it stays SO lively!

I’m planning to return to this gem ASAP. Until then, I’ll live vicariously through YOU! Hope you’re planning your trip as you read all of my highlights and recommendations! Soak. It. Up!

CURRENTLY VIEWING:

The best place for a cocktail! The views are stunning. We came here before dinner one night and it was the perfect place to sit outside and have a glass of wine. Apparently their dinner is super yummy!

An amazing experience – The chef makes you feel like family! A modern interior build out with an extensive wine list and the most attentive staff! This spot is a must. You cannot go wrong with any of the pastas.

A Michelin-star restaurant in the beautiful Le Serenuse hotel. Fresh, local ingredients, plus the ambience is STUNNING. They light hundreds of candles every night! One of my favorite dinner spots our entire trip!

Live music and an Italian take on country food – What more could you want??!

Organic ingredients from the restuarants own farm! I loved the pasta with green pepper – It’s their famous dish!

For gelato!! I loved getting a few scoops and taking it with me to the beach. So yummy!

My personal favorite beach-front restaurant! The seafood pasta was unbelievable. Great place to sit outside and watch the sunset because you’re literally on the beach! An afternoon aperol spritz is also a must J

They have these for rent beachside! Grab a bottle of wine, some cheese, crackers and meat and have a boat picnic in one of the coves after a swim! It makes for an amazing afternoon.

Capri is on the southern corner of the Bay of Naples! It makes for an easy day trip out to the island if you have the time! Grab a ferry and you’re there in less than an hour! There’s lots to explore in Capri, but definitely visit the Blue Grotto cave!

The best way to get to know the city is to spend time walking its winding streets! The architecture is otherworldy.

As you wander the streets, stop in all of the ceramic and clothing shops! So many beautiful, handmade linen designs!

B E A C H! We spent days on end walking the shore, laying out, and just enjoying the beautiful weather. One of my favorite beaches. If you go in the Summer, definitely plan to spend a few hours a day in the sun!

World-famous, Sirenese is a family-run hotel that seriously took my breath away. One of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed!

A local charm!! This family-run hotel goes out of their way to make you feel special! We had a terrace room, and I definitely recommend splurging on that! We spent some evenings taking in the view with a glass of prosecco.

There are so many adorable and affordable Italian airbnbs! We split up the week between and airbnb (with a beautiful terrace!) and Le Sirenuse. I loved having the experience of both, so I recommend it!

This is on my list for next time! Beautiful villa with gardens – This place looked lovely! Also great pool and restaurant!
